First thing's first: the Ecler EVO 5 is probably one of the most "MIDI-enabled" mixers on the market today. With a massive 24 channel sound card (6 stereo outs / 6 stereo ins) and a firewire connection it delivers a lot of connectivity. Each channel can be run as an analog audio in, analog audio in + midi or a firewire audio + midi channel. We shall mention that it has a effect section as well with a big LCD screen as well, but the effects isn't that simple to use at a first look - you need to program it some to get it into full swing.
The double firewire ports at the back allows you to daisy-chain other firewire devices through the EVO 5 to spare ports on your computer and the MIDI-IN/OUT ports at the back let's you connect it to other MIDI devices such as synths, sequenzers e.t.c
